Berlin Airport

There are three airports in and around Berlin:
- Airport Tegel
- Airport Tempelhof
- Airport Schönefeld

The airport Tempelhof is the oldest and the smallest of all three airports in Berlin. Berlin Tempelhof was created in 1923, and was the first airport in the world which had connection to a subway (since 1927).

The official name for the airport "Berlin Tegel" is "Berlin International Airport". The airport of Berlin Tegel exists since 1948.

The airport Berlin Schönefeld is already located in the Federal State of Brandenburg. The airport was opened for civil aviation in 1947, according to the order of the Soviet Union Military Government.
