Reichstag Berlin
Reichstag was the location of the Imperial Diet of the Imperial German
Empire. Later it was the parliament of the "Weimarer Republik", the
German republic between the first and the second world war. Since 1994
all Federal Conventions to the election of the German president are
hosted there. Since 1999 the Reichstag is the site of the Lower House
of German Parliament.

The building of the Reichstag was finnished in December 1894. The
building costs amounted 23 348 000 Mark which were paid from the
reparations, which France had to pay after their lost war against
Germany in 1870/71.
4 weeks after Adolf Hitler was nominated to the Chancellor of the
Empire, the building of the Reichstag was in flames. A Dutch communist
was accused for the act of incendiarism. The Nationalsocialist Party
used this incident to activate the authorization law, which allowed
them to expand their power in Germany.
